South Carolina Rep. Timmons Visit TRI in Greenville
TRI Environmental was honored last week to welcome US Rep. William Timmons, his Chief of Staff Moutray McLaren, and Greenville Area Development Corporation (GADC) Senior VP Kevin R. Landmesser to its state-of-the-art Greenville, South Carolina testing laboratory. Timmons represents South Carolina’s 4th Congressional Districts, which includes the cities of Greenville and Spartanburg, both of which are home to major manufacturing entities. The region is one of the traditional centers of technical textile innovation in the United States.
Geosynthetics are part of that tradition.
“We had the opportunity to discuss TRI’s vision for advanced geosynthetic materials research,” says lab director Jay Sprague. “[We also discussed the] TRI Greenville facility expansion and the goal of developing the world’s premier geosynthetics research and testing facility in Greenville.”
TRI Environmental has had a history of dramatic growth in South Carolina. The world’s first GAI-LAP accredited outdoor, large-scale testing laboratory for erosion and sediment control materials was established in nearby Anderson. The growth of services in Anderson led to the development of a new facility in Greenville, the addition of accelerated pavement testing equipment, and the opening of a new hydrostatic pipe testing lab.
“I’m so proud of my team at TRI and grateful for the opportunity to work with Greenville’s community leaders!” Sprague noted.
